Shirley Gillfillan

Shirley A. Gillfillan, 89, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully after an extended illness at 7:40pm, April 24, 2025, at Copper Knoll Health & Rehabilitation Center in Washington C.H., OH.
She was born November 20, 1935, in Chillicothe, to the late Harold and Lillian (Segbers) Dickson. On September 8, 1956, she married James G. "Gordy" Gillfillan, Sr., who preceded her in death on August 20, 2018.
Surviving are their daughters: Cheryl Berry, Theresa (Jeffrey) Hall, Lisa Gillfillan Bethel and her fiancée Mike Sigler, Kimberly (Marc) Leeth, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Amber Berry, Lukas Wagner, Matthew Wagner, Gabriel Hall, Shannon Bethel, Shelby (Nathaniel) Hamilton, Hannah (David) Lazar, Cheyenne (Nicholas) Capel, Savannah (Jacob) Sweeney, Gina Gillfillan; great-grandchildren: Wesley, Emmalee, Titus, Kylee, Oliver, Nolan, Naomi, Stevie, Timothy and Olive; and her sisters Carol (Don) Heil and Marilyn Taylor. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, sons James G. Gillfillan, Jr. and Mark A. Gillfillan; son-in-law Skip Berry; and her brother Bob Dickson.
Shirley was a graduate of Chillicothe High School and met "Gordy," the love of her life, at the Chillicothe Skateaway. She loved her job working as an operator for many years at the Chillicothe Telephone Company and took great pleasure in talking to and helping others. She always had a smile on her face and was kind to everyone. She was a devout Catholic all of her life starting at Saint Peter School and was a member of Saint Mary Church. The things she loved most in life were her family, her grandkids, riding her bike around town for miles waving at people and sunbathing especially in her beloved Sanibel Island where she and Gordy vacationed to for many years.
The family would like to recognize and express gratitude to the staff and caregivers of Copper Knoll Health & Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care they gave over the last few years.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon, Wednesday April 30, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 61 S. Paint St., Rev. Chris Tuttle, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:30am at Haller Funeral & Crematory.
