Shelby Jean Ball, 69, of Chillicothe, passed away from this life at 5:30am on Wednesday, February 25, 2009, in Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born August 31, 1939, in Latham, OH, to the late Homer and Cora (Massie) Williamson. On December 20, 2008, she and her husband, Robert L. Ball, who survives, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Also surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Gary Sallade, of Chillicothe; granddaughter Ashley Caudill and her fiancée, Adam McGuire, of Chillicothe; step-grandson Scott (Tami) Sallade and their children Casey and Kayla, of Louisville, KY; a step-granddaughter Shelby Sallade of Covington, KY; a brother James (Kathy) Williamson; sisters Dorothy (Rich) Leeth and Linda (Rick) Wray; sisters-in-law Sue (David) Leeth; Mildred Green; and Abigail Moore. She was predeceased by her brother Wesley Williamson. Shelby was a member of the Bridge St. Church of Christ and had retired from Sears in Chillicothe after 35 years of service. She was very active in the AMVETS Post #4 Auxiliary, where she held many leadership positions, currently serving as Hospital Chairman. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, February 28, in the Haller Funeral Home with evangelist Gary Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-3pm Saturday at Haller Funeral Home. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the AMVETS, Post #4 Auxiliary, PO Box 19, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
