Sheila DeHaven Burchwell passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family in Columbus, Ohio. She was born in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, on September 9, 1947, to the late Dolphus and Viola (Mohler) Alderman.
She is survived by her children, Christina Wiley and Glenn (Melissa) Burchwell II; her grandchildren, Nathan Carver (Stephanie), Justin Wiley (Bryttany), Madisyn Burchwell, and Glenn Burchwell III; great-grandchild, Ellie Mae Carver; and siblings, Sandy Crabtree, Sharon Somers, Synthia Crawford, and Steve Alderman. Sheila will also be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Sheila loved and was devoted to her family, where most of her time was spent. Her passions were her grandchildren. She would follow them wherever they were with school activities, sports, and family outings. She enjoyed sports, animals (she loved Wolves and watching birds), and old Western movies. She had been a long-time member at Walnut Street United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. More recently, she had been attending Brookside Church. She worked for the Chillicothe City Schools. While working at the school, she often worked with challenging students and enjoyed trying to assist them. She also worked at Herrnstein Car dealership as their Office Manager. She worked there for several years till she retired.
A Celebration of Sheila's life will be held at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sheila's memory can be made to the People and Carnivores organization, PO Box 6733 Bozeman, MT 59771. The family also suggests adopting a wolf through the Columbus Zoo, which can be done through their website.
