Sharon L. Wikle, 62, of Chillicothe, died at 6:30pm Friday, March 26, 2010, in Adena Regional Medical Center, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 18, 1947, in Malone, NY, to Elmer and Alice Shova Humiston. On November 9, 1968, she married Charles E. Wikle, who survives. Also surviving are son and daughter-in-law Christopher (Michele) Wikle; grandchildren Alicia and Ross Hertenstein; her mother, Alice Humiston, all of Chillicothe; sister and brother-in-law Sandra (Larry) Althouse, Frankfort; sister-in-law Brenda Humiston, Olden, TX; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tom (Leslie) Wikle, Richmond, VA; several nieces and nephews; and her father-in-law Martin Wikle, of Chillicothe. She was predeceased by her father, a brother David Humiston; and her mother-in-law Betty Wikle. Sharon was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. While she was very family oriented, one of her loves was interior design, in which she had a degree. She also loved gardening and enjoyed all kinds of music, especially western. She was a former western dance instructor as well as a former CCD teacher. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Wednesday, March 31, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-7pm at Haller Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 5:00pm. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to Adena Hospice, 111 W. Water St., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
