Sharon L. Seekatz, 70, of Chillicothe, died at 2:30pm December 4, 2013, at her residence following a battle with cancer. She was born November 22, 1943, in Chillicothe to the late William C. and Evelyn R. (Jennings) Milliken. Sharon is survived by her children: David Allen Seekatz, Chillicothe; Rebecca Crawford, Chillicothe; Brent Seekatz and Paul Yoakum, of Columbus; and Nathan (Linda) Seekatz, Zanesville; grandchildren: Mettea Crawford, Michelle Crawford, Camryn Seekatz and Marley Seekatz; brothers David (Judy) Milliken, Frankfort; Russ (Barb) Milliken, Chillicothe; and P.J. (Chris) Milliken, Frankfort; an aunt Ruth (Ed) Dudley, New Haven, CT; nieces and nephews John (Helen) Milliken, Dana (Nick) Anderson, Susan (Tom) Sommers, James Milliken and Kathleen Bunn, Kevin (Mary) Milliken, Nick Milliken, Derek Milliken and Kacey Crow; and Ryan Milliken; and numerous cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandparents Ruth and Harry Jennings; and Susie Wood Cooper and John Milliken; and numerous aunts and uncles. A lifelong resident of Chillicothe, Sharon graduated from Chillicothe High School, Class of 1961, and was a member for over 50 years at Walnut St. United Methodist Church. She worked her entire life until a massive stroke forced her to retire from Barber Spring in December 2008. Sharon had also survived a bout with leukemia in the spring of 2008, however, was diagnosed with cancer in June of 2013. She was a very active and happy person. She loved her family and greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whom she affectionately referred to as "Nana's Girls." The family would like to acknowledge and thank Adena Hospice, Dr. Ralph Roach, her nurse Sherry, her friends and staff at Hopeton Terrace, and her former husband Williard D. Seekatz and his wife, Mary. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 1:00pm Monday, December 9, at the Walnut St. UMC with Pastor Lori Lossie officiating. Friends may call Monday from 11:30am until 1:00pm at the Church and are encouraged to dress casually. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home.
