Sharon Merriman

Sharon Sue Merriman, 63, of Chillicothe, left this earth to be with her Lord and Saviour, at 6:00pm, on Thursday, March 9, 2017. She was born July 13, 1953, in Aurora, Illinois, to the late Lewis and Hazel Hughes. She was married on January 12, 1976, to Dean Ray Merriman, who survives. Sharon and Dean adored each other and were never apart. They had a wonderful life together. "I have found him whom my soul loveth" - Song of Solomon 3:4 Also surviving are 4 children; Michael (Naomi) Ward, Melissa (Tom) Nerviano, Amy (Michael) Gumm, and Mark (Pam Autry) Ward; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Ed (Sharon) Hughes, Jerry (Georgia) Hughes, Mary Neal Gordley, and Verda (Dan) Hill; her closest friend and surrogate sister, Melanie Elvir; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sharon loved her family deeply and was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Angel Rose; a daughter, Sharon Michelle Ward, and her siblings, Anne Mead, Fay Blaney, Katherine Wonderleigh, Delores "Jean" Nagely, Franklin, Steve, Paul, Bobby, and Billy Joe Hughes. Sharon was an ordained minister and evangelist for God. She was an incredible example for the Lord and touched many lives throughout her years. Many of us were blessed to be a part of her wonderful life, and though she will be greatly missed, we will rejoice knowing she has made her home in Heaven. Please join us in celebrating the life of this immeasurably loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and mentor. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Christian Life Tabernacle Church, with Pastor Phillip C. Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
