Sharon Mccomas
October 14, 1953 — April 15, 2024
On Monday April 15th at 4:10pm, Sharon Lynn McComas (Shug), stepped out of this world into her eternal reward!
She was born on October 14th, 1953, to Harvey McComas and the late Wanda Carroll, both of Chillicothe Ohio.
She served as a preschool teacher at head start for many years and loved working with children. She was promoted to Educational Manager. She retired July 2019.
Sharon's life truly exemplified the great commandment given by the Lord Jesus.
"Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'"
Matthew 22:37-39 NKJV
This love for God and for others led Sharon on many adventures both in the states and abroad, including serving as a full-time missionary in Mexico for four years!
Sharon was a woman who knew what truly mattered in life, her family and loved ones meant everything to her! She had a huge part in raising Josh, Holly, Katlyn and Brandon Carroll. She was a mother figure to them and a role model that they could truly look up to.
She had a deep love for prayer and spent many hours praying with her prayer partner and dear friend Pammy and her other dear friends!
One of Sharon's greatest joys in life was spending time with her great nephew and niece, Zephaniah and Emily! They were like her grandchildren, her pride and joy!
She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Carroll, her sister Vickie Davis, and her other dad Woody Carroll.
She is survived by her dad Harvey McComas, her sisters Katie (Don) Leist, Rosie (Dave) Cade, Loretta Detty, and her brothers John McComas, James (Jeanette) Carroll, Woody Carroll, Ronnie (Tina) Carroll, and Dave (Amanda) Carroll! She was Aunt Shuggie to all her many nieces and nephews!
We are so grateful for the wonderful care from Adena hospice! They all grew to love Shug and she loved them as well!
Funeral services will be held on Friday April 19th at 5:30pm at Haller Funeral Home, 1661 Western Ave Chillicothe, Ohio 45601. Calling hours for family and friends will be from 3:30pm to 5:30pm.
