On August 19, 2016, I lost the love of my life, Sharon Kay Hough, after she fought a long, hard and painful battle with cancer and arthritis. Sharon married her high school sweetheart, David M. Hough, on July 29, 1961. She was his friend, partner, lover and wife. Sharon was mammaw to her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She was mother, disciplinarian, teacher, advisor and brought comfort to her children. Her cuddle buddies are Scruffy, Chip and Cooper. Sharon was born in Chillicothe on April 7, 1943, to parents Herbert S. and Kathryn Louise Manson, who preceded her in death. She has a brother and sister-in-law, Herb and Debbie Manson, of Bainbridge. Sharon has three children: Michelle (Steve) Wells, Melissa (Mike) Wills, both of Pennsylvania, and David Matthew Hough, of Chillicothe. Sharon has six grandchildren: Sara (Jared) Chambers, Kyle (Tisa) Morris, Lydia and Ethan Wells, all of Pennsylvania, and Karly M. and Matthew K.G. Hough, of Chillicothe. Sharon worked in banking all of her life and retired from the Ross County Banking Center in 2008. She had special friends Sharon Bayless and Susan Pinnix, as well as Eve Harper, who she thought of as a daughter. She loved the sun, beaches, and most of all, shopping and seeing the faces of those she gifted. We would like to give special thanks to Adena Hospice for their care, compassion and guidance in Sharon's last moments. At her request, there will be no calling hours or service. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Adena Health System, 2077 Western Avenue, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
