Saundra S. "Sandy" Wood

Saundra S. “Sandy” Wood, 80, of Chillicothe, died at 4:15am November 21, 2025, at Chillicothe Post Acute following an extended illness.

She was born on November 16, 1945, in Chillicothe to the late John W. and Gladys M. (Beeler) Clemmons. On January 22, 1964, she married Charles William “Bill” Wood. Together, Bill and Sandy enjoyed over 61 years together.

Also surviving are their daughters Beth Ann (John) Roberts; and Michele L. McKee; granddaughters Kiersten and Rylie McKee; and a niece Catherine Compher. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister JoAnn Seitz and brother Orville Clemmons.

Sandy was a 1964 graduate of Chillicothe High School. She worked at the Ross County Title Dept. until retiring in 2001. She enjoyed crafting and painting. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff and caregivers of Advanced Hospice, especially her longtime aide, Kay Austin, who became like family.

Her graveside service will be held at 1pm Monday, November 24, in Greenlawn Cemetery with Kay Austin officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from Noon until 1pm at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
