Sandra Ann Hollis, 79, of Chillicothe, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 2, 2021, at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.
She was born December 21, 1941, in Chillicothe, Ohio, daughter of the late Carl and Maryellen (Finnegan) Skinner. On April 8, 1961, she married Thomas James Hollis, Sr., and together they shared nearly 60 years of marriage before his passing on September 24, 2020.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, T.J. (Angie) Hollis, of Chillicothe; three grandchildren, T.J. (Erica Turner) Hollis, Jenna (Gabriel) Haynes, and Hannah Hollis, all of Chillicothe; her great-grandson, Luca Gabriel Haynes; a great-granddaughter on the way, Ava Grace Haynes; a brother-in-law, Robert (Carolyn) Hollis, of Amanda; a sister-in-law, Patricia (Richard) Hopper, of Chillicothe; special niece, Sherrie Eberle; close friends, Joyce Knisley, and Bill Cleary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Sandra was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, class of 1960. She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church, past president of the S.A.L.T. Council in Chillicothe, a Lioness with the Chillicothe Lions Club, and was always looking to participate in a good cause. She and her husband Tom got to live out a lifelong dream and moved to North Central Texas for 12 years, where they raised cattle.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff at Adena Regional Medical Center for the compassion and kindness shown to the family during Sandra's stay.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public calling hours or funeral services. A Celebration of Life will be held in June 2021, with a date and time to be announced later. Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to the Adena Foundation.
