Sandra Elkin

Sandra L. Elkin, 72, of Chillicothe, died at 10:45pm March 15, 2014, at her residence following an extended battle with cancer.   She was born August 19, 1941, in Middletown, OH, to the late Charles and Grace (Cull) Shade. On June 7, 1959, she married Gary L. Elkin, who survives.   Also surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Dawn L. (William) George, of Grove City, OH; son Todd A. Elkin, Chillicothe; daughter-in-law Jodi Elkin, Chillicothe; grandchildren: Joseph E. Knapp and Jacob E. Knapp, both of Grove City; Morgan S. Hensley, Kelsey L. Elkin, Makenna D. Elkin and Dalton M. Elkin, all of Chillicothe; and brothers and sisters-in-law Thomas (Rena) Shade, Dayton, FL; David (Carol) Shade, Germantown, OH; and Marion (Rachel) Shade, Hampstead, NC. She was predeceased by her parents and a son Scott P. Elkin.   Sandy was a graduate of Germantown High School, Class of 1959. She had worked as a bookkeeper for Whited-Seigneur Accountants and later kept the books for her husband for their properties. She was treasurer and founding member of the Scioto Valley Real Estate Association and served as a member of the Board of Directors for 8 years for the Ohio Real Estate Assoc.   Graveside services will be held at 2:30pm Wednesday, March 19, in Butler Co. Memorial Park, 4570 Trenton Oxford Rd., Hamilton, OH 45011. Friends may call from 10-11:00am Wednesday at Haller Funeral Home.
