Samuel Speakman

Samuel L. Speakman, 60, of Chillicothe, went home to be with the Lord at 4:17pm on Thursday, November 19, 2009. He was born May 3, 1949, in Chillicothe, to the late Vinton and Ella Norah Ray Speakman. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Norah (Stuart) Schmidt; his grandchildren: Savannah and Isaiah Schmidt, all of Chillicothe; his sister and brother-in-law Sherry (Ed) Cain; his brothers Jerry F. and Joseph B. Speakman; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Viola D. Ollie; Mary Ellen Speakman; and Thelma "Marie" Speakman; and his brothers Glenn R.; Edward F. and James E. Speakman. Sam was a graduate of Centralia High School, Class of 1968. He served his country as a Sergeant in the US Air Force from 1968 until 1972. He retired from the former Thompson Consumer Electronics. He was an exceptional grandfather who dedicated his life to loving and spending time with his grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00pm Monday, November 23, 2009, at the Jefferson Avenue C.C.C.U., 770 Jefferson Ave., with Pastor Mark Clendaniel officiating. Military honors will be given by the Wright-Patterson AFB Honor Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home.
