Samuel Hill

Samuel Grant Hill, 85, of Chillicothe, passed peacefully at 12:58pm, Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at his home, following an extended illness. He was born in Chillicothe, July 15, 1931, to the late Samuel and Norna Alice (Saunders) Hill. On July 5, 1957, he married Vivian L. (Detty) Hill, who survives. Also surviving are their children, Sam Hill, and Lisa (Michael Brown) Hill; their grandchildren, Adam Hill, and Shannon (Tommy Tennison) Hill; a great-grandchild, Zariah Tennison; and a sister, Norma Jean Sheets, all of Chillicothe; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Hill. Sam was veteran of the United States Army and served two years during the Korean Conflict. He worked at the Mead Paper Company for nearly 47 years before his retirement in 1999. In his free time, he loved going fishing. He will be greatly missed by his family and remember as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no public calling hours or funeral services. The family would like to thank the nurses and aids with Heartland Hospice for all the care and kindness they provided to Sam during his illness.
