Salvatore Zangri

Salvatore J. Zangri Salvatore J. Zangri, 85, of Chillicothe, died 11:15 am Friday, July 22, 2005 in Westmoreland Place Nursing Home. He was born March 25, 1920 in Lawrence, Mass. to Alfio and Catherine Zappola Zangri. On September 24, 1944 he married Helen Berger Schowengerdt, who died July 4, 1990. Survivors include 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred G. (Judith M.) Zangri, of Gilbert AZ, Robert S. (Carolyn S.) Zangri , of Centerville, OH, and John R. (Cathy S.) Zangri, of Chillicothe; 7 grandchildren, Karen (Chad) Schneiter, Travis Zangri, Lisa Zangri, Matthew Zangri, Amanda (Chris) Mickey, Melissa (Steve) Huggins, and Erica Zangri; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Costa. Mr. Zangri retired from the Goodyear Atomic Plant in 1982. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, the Waverly Operatic Guild, and had graduated from Tufts University. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 am, Rev. James Black, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery.
