Sally A. Cordes, 81, of Chillicothe, passed away at 9:14pm June 1, 2025, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born January 31, 1944, in Chillicothe, to the late Clarence and Nellie Mae (Hart) Davis. On September 15, 1964, she married James L. Cordes, who preceded her in death June 18, 2015.
The youngest of ten children, Sally is survived by her daughter, Kim Hoffman and her fiancé Danny Barker, of Kingston; granddaughter Hannah Hoffman and her fiancé Brennan Pittock, of Middletown; step-grandson Brandon Barker, of Clarksville, TN; her brother Wayne Davis, of Worthington, OH; several nieces and nephews, including Mike (Linda) Davis, Tim (Lynn) Davis, Steve Davis and Diane (Bob) Stansberry; and her caregivers from National Church Residences: Shelly Horch, Madison Hitchcock, Autumn Wagner, Suzanne Cryder and Ashlan Rothe. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings Ethel, Frances, Shirley, Bernadine, Jim, Eleanor, Mabel and an infant sibling; and her nephew Kevin Davis.
Sally was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1962. She worked as a dietary clerk for over 50 years for the Chillicothe Hospital, Ross Co. Medical Center and Adena Health System. She enjoyed baking and working in the yard with her flower garden and was a huge Elvis Presley fan.
Her funeral service will be held at 1pm Thursday, June 5, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, with Chaplain Aaron Hines officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11am until 1 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
