S. Doraine Shreve, 95, of Chillicothe, passed from this life to her eternal rewards at 7:05pm Monday, January 11, 2010, in Adena Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. She was born November 26, 1914, in Wetzel Co, WV, to the late Thomas B. and Mamie Cyphers Weekley. On August 1, 1947, she married Walter N. Shreve, who preceded her in death on April 15, 2001. She was also predeceased by a great-grandson Nicolai Shreve; a son-in-law Bill Kitchen; and brothers Ralph Weekley, Robert Weekley; Jimmie Weekley; and sisters Louise Morgan, Geneva Yeater, Ella Mason, Moreth Jones and Jessie Johnson. Surviving are her daughter Linda Kitchen, Chillicothe; son and daughter-in-law Terry (Chris) Shreve, McArthur; step-sons Thomas (Donna) Shreve, Londonderry; Paul (Evelyn) Shreve, Chillicothe; James (Marilyn) Shreve, Richmond Dale; Leslie (Peggy) Shreve, of West Virginia; a step-daughter Patricia Reger, of West Virginia; grandchildren Tom (Kelli) Kitchen, New Vienna; Lori (Josh) Jones, Chillicothe; Katie Fout and Shawnna Shreve, both of McArthur; great-grandchildren Kellen Kitchen; Caden Jones; Jacey Jones; Zackery Fout; Caleb Fout; Eli Fout; and Sammy Fout; several step-grandchildren, several step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a brother Thomas (Annabelle) Weekley, Dade City, FL. Mrs. Shreve worked as a waitress until retiring. She attended Londonderry United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Shreve lived independently until the last week of her life. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Case officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8pm at the Haller Funeral Home.
