S. Elizabeth "Libby" Lynch, 84, of Chillicothe, died at 7:00am Friday, September 24, 2010, in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born May 17, 1926, in Chillicothe, to the late Benjamin and Etta James Woodfork. On March 5, 1943, she married Edward L. Lynch, Sr., who preceded her in death on November 13, 1997. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law Edward L., Jr. (Janell) Lynch, Columbus; James E. (Deanna) Lynch; Roderick J. (Kimberly) Lynch, all of Chillicothe; daughters and sons-in-law Sondra (William) Thompson, Chillicothe; Joy (Samuel) Shabazz, Columbus; 19 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased a son Rev. William B. Lynch; 8 brothers and 4 sisters. Libby had worked as a household technician and as a substitute teacher. She was a former member of Quinn Chapel A.M.E., where she served on the improvement team. She was also a Girl Scout Brownie Leader and a Chillicothe High School Band Booster. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, September 28, in the Haller Funeral Home with Bishop Melvin Maughmer officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from Noon until 2pm Tuesday at Haller Funeral Home.
