Stephen Andrew "Andy" Barnhart, 49, died at 11:40am at home on Friday October 3, 2014. He was born October 21, 1964, in Chillicothe to Richard T. and Frieda K. (Miller) Barnhart, who survive. In addition to his parents, his is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Christina A. (Steven) Shepard; nephew Isaac C. Shepard; nieces Anna E. Shepard and Rachel K. Shepard, all of Washington C.H.; uncles and aunts Ray E. (Joyce) Miller; Roy A. (Linda Jo) Miller; Denise Spaeth; Rudy Spaeth; and our special family friend Holly Schoenholtz. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Harold R. (Gladys) Miller; and paternal grandparents Harold A. (Gertrude A.) Barnhart, Sr. Andy graduated from Pioneer School and attended the Adult Day Program of Easter Seals. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling in Blind Bowling Leagues for nearly 25 years and in Susan's Special Friends League at Shawnee Lanes. He loved to travel, especially to the Blind Bowling Tournaments and the National Handicapable Square Dance Convention, across the country. Andy was also a big fan of the Dukes of Hazard TV program and was able to travel and personally meet "Daisy" and "Cooter." He was also an avid OSU fan. A special thank you to Adena Hospice staff and Tammy, his case manager, as well as his Easter Seals caregivers for their exceptional care during Andy's illness. A Celebration of Andy's life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Easter Seals of Ross County, 1855 Western Avenue, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
