Ruth Reeves

R. Eileen Reeves, 85, of Chillicothe, died 4:00 pm, Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at Heartland of Chillicothe, following an extended illness. She was born October 31, 1927 in Chillicothe to the late Ralph and Edna Moore Palmer. On September 24, 1974 she married the late William Reeves, who died May 13, 2006. Survivors include a sister, June Ellifritt, of Chillicothe; nephews, Donald (Debra) Ellifritt, Robert (Roberta) Palmer, Scott (Lanie) Ellifritt and Steve and Andy Reeves; nieces, Becky (Larry) Alflen and Theresa Reeves; a sister-in-law, Mary Reeves; great nieces and nephews, Regina Albin, Rex Sherman, Holly (Aaron) Daily, Paul Ellifritt, Amanda, Kari, and Bobby Palmer USMC; a great-great nephew, Theodore Daily; a cousin, Colleen Sulzer; and special friends, Pat Reed, Lucille Nichols, Vivian Crowe and Maxine Hanawalt Kelly. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bob (Jean) Palmer; a niece, Betsy Palmer; a nephew, Ricky Ellifritt; and a brother-in-law, Ira Donald Ellifritt. Mrs. Reeves received her RN and BSN and retired as the Director of Nursing at the Adena Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the American Red Cross, Ross Co. Nurses Association, Ohio Farm Bureau and the Chillicothe Country Club. She was awarded the Ross Co. Nurse of the Year. The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland, especially housekeeping, the aids, the therapists, and nurses for their tremendous care. Mrs. Reeves was a member of St. Mary Church, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Monday, Rev. Lawrence Hummer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 pm Sunday at Haller Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 4:00 pm.
