Ruth Newsome, 90, of Chillicothe, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022 at her home, following an extended illness.
She was born September 4, 1932, in Lewis Co., KY, daughter of the late Connell and Cora (Stamm) Crawford. On October 4, 1952, she married her beloved husband, Floyd Newsome, sharing 67 years of marriage before his passing on January 20, 2019.
Surviving is her daughter-in-law, Erin Newsome; six grandchildren, Harley, Kayana, Taylor (Preston), Tyler, Damion, and Auna; 1 great-grandchild on the way; a brother, Leffel (Lee) Crawford; and a sister, Maxine Day. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Newsome, and her daughter, Pamela Newsome.
Ruth was a former member of the Bridge Street Church of Christ in Chillicothe. In her free time, she enjoyed working puzzles and spending time with family.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Highlawn Memorial Gardens, Washington Court House, OH. Friends may join the family for visitation from 11:00am until the time of the service.
