Ruth V. (Thomas) McCutcheon, 87, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 9:15pm Wednesday, August 2, 2006, in Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born March 30, 1919, in Chillicothe to the late William H. and Essie L. Hatfield Thomas. On October 26, 1940, she married Paul V. McCutcheon, who survives. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, including a special niece Joyce Peters and her companion, Glenn Haubeil; Bruce (Cindy) Dyer; Keith (Martha) Dyer, all of Chillicothe; Marilyn (Louis) Meyer, of Dallas, TX; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; special friends Jeannie and Ronald Brooks, George and Gypsy Lowry, Ben and Joan Steiner, and Hazel Ison, all of Chillicothe; Helen and Jim Smith, Rockbridge; and Hazel Graves of Fairborn. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jeanette E. McCutcheon; sisters Gladys (Roscoe) Wagner, Clarabel (Walter) Dyer, Opal (Robert) Cunningham; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. McCutcheon was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was the Choir Director for 20 years and the Program Director for the First EUB Church Sunday night radio program. She retired from Chillicothe Hardware in 1978, where she was an accountant and inventory manager. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, August 5, at the Haller Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles Case and Rev. Bobby Bland officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from Noon until 2:00pm at Haller Funeral Home.
