On November 26, 1955 she married the love of her life, Donald “Butch” Manion. Growing up in Vigo and Lickskillet, she had so many fond memories of times spent with her Thacker, Moats, Nokes, and Jordan family members, especially time spent with her family members on Hart Hill. In remembrance of these times, she held the Nokes Reunion at her house for more than 50 years. Family was everything to Ruth and was always hopeful that would continue for years to come.

She attended Southeastern High School and Brookside Church, and loved her church family and gospel music. She was always proud of the years she worked at RCA in Circleville. She and Butch traveled throughout the country for Gospel Concerts, with fond memories of travels to Hawaii, Branson, Missouri and when health allowed spent winters in Central Florida enjoying many new found friends and enjoying the warmer winter months.

Surviving is a brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Joyce Thacker; and several nieces and nephews that she loved like they were her own. She wanted to share all of her experiences with those that otherwise would never have the opportunity with extreme love and kindness. Among those, her nephew and his wife, Chris and Vickie Thacker cared for her for her final years of her life. She had a special relationship and love for her great-great niece Molly Ann Frazier who was 91 years her junior, sharing lollipops, hugs and smiles.

Along with her parents, She was preceded in death by her beloved Husband, Donald “Butch” Manion April 2, 2017; a sister and brother-in-law Wilma and Raymond Weaver.
