Ruth Holman

Ruth Mary Holman, 95, of Chillicothe, formerly of Washington CH, died 3:15 am, Sunday, December 27, 2015, at Heartland of Chillicothe. She was born July 25, 1920 in Chillicothe to the late Charles and Anna Lemay Huiss. On July 20, 1942 she married Robert L. Holman, who died April 15, 2004. Survivors include her son, Michael Holman; grandchildren, Denise Conrad and Jason Jones; great-grandchildren, Shelby (Devon) Skaggs, Megan and Nicholas Conrad; a sister, Norma Jean Arnold; and a nephew, Bruce (Carolyn) Arnold, all of Chillicothe. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Pamela Jones, and a brother, Lloyd Huiss. Mrs. Holman was a former member of St. Colman Church, Washington CH, and is currently a member of St. Mary Church, Chillicothe. Ruth was a graduate of Immaculate Concepcion Academy, Oldenburg, IN. She retired from Kaufman Shoes as a store manager. She was a member and five time president of the American Legion Auxiliary, serving in Chillicothe and Washington CH; a member of the VFW Post 3762; and had over 10,000 hours volunteering at the VA Medical Center, Chillicothe. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Thursday at St. Mary Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 pm Wednesday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, where a wake service will be held at 7:00 pm.
