Ruth (Mayhew) Conard, 94, of Chillicothe, passed away March 6, 2013, at Traditions of Chillicothe. She was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Clarkson and Gladys Mayhew; brothers Martin (Tress); and George; sister Inabelle (Roger) Walvood; and her loving husband of 43 years, John Kenneth Conard, who was the co-founder of Scioto Farm Chemicals on Seney Road, along with his brother Donald Conard. Ruth is survived by her children: Dennis (Brenda) Conard, of Columbus; Bruce Conard, of Napa, CA; Max Conard, of Columbus, OH; and Kay (Lynn) Free, Chillicothe; grandchildren: Jeffrey Conard, Angelique (Tom) Walker, Hilary (Adolfo) Loustaunau, Matt (Sara) McCormick, Andrew (Anya) McCormick, Corrinn (Greg) Ekker and Timothy (Kate) Conard; 6 lovely great-grandchildren: Mia and Reagan Walker; Alex and Eric Loustaunau; Elliott Ekker; and Jade McCormick; brothers: Clark (Jean Ann), of San Benito, TX; Milton (Lou Anna), of Talmadge, OH; sister-in-law Marilyn, of Orville, OH; Judy Tomlinson and Piera (Conard) and Bob Giesken; plus numerous nieces and nephews. From 1952-2013, Ruth lived in Bainbridge, Greenfield, Vigo and Chillicothe. She was a long-time member of Walnut St. Methodist Church, the Ohio State Mothers' Club, worked as a hair stylist at Ruth Hughes Beauty Salon and taught at a beauty school in Chillicothe. She graduated from Warsaw (OH) High School in 1936. Funerals services will be held at 3:00pm Wednesday, March 13, at the Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-3pm at Haller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
