Ruth Ault

Ruth Bell Speakman Ault, 89, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at 4:08am in Traditions of Chillicothe following an extended illness. She was born August 16, 1921, in Chillicothe, the daughter of Jake and Bertha Edgington Speakman and biological daughter of Raymond Grey. In 1941, she married Charles Donald Ault, her husband of 67 years, who died April 29, 2008. She is survived by four children: Donald (Carolyn) Ault; Judy (James) Lyons; Jo Ann (Greg) Cox, all of Chillicothe; and Herbert Ault, of North Hollywood, CA; 12 grandchildren: Vicki Ault (Tom) Pierce; Sherri (Kenny) Ault; Tammy (Dale) Ault-Sorrell; Debra Lyons; Steve (Ricki) Wise; Renee (Duane) Valentine; Michelle Lyons and her companion Jim Johnston; Dustin (Rebecca) Ault; Jeffrey and Sarah Ault; Chuck (Sheila) and Ben (Nikki) Kassulke; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister Vera Graves, of Inverness, FL; a brother Ronald Speakman, Chillicothe; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons James and Robert; a brother Herb Speakman; and a sister Violet Campbell. Mrs. Ault was a founding mother of Pioneer School. She was a longtime member of the Sunrush Church of Christ and was a member of the Ross County Senior Citizens and S.A.L.T. Council. She attended Unioto Schools and was in the first class, which chose the school colors. The family would like to thank Traditions and In Care Hospice for their love, kindness and care of their mother. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday at the Haller Funeral Home with ministers Eddie Cooper and Billy Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
