Russell Viney

Russell Viney, 81, of Chillicothe, formerly of Columbus, died at 10:12pm Friday, November 5, 2010, in Heartland Nursing Home.   He was born March 4, 1929, to the late William Harold and Dorothy Dodd Powell Viney.   Surviving are his children: Russell Jackson and his companion Jennifer, of Columbus; Jeffery (Gayle) Jackson, Lancaster, OH; Doressa (Jewell) Jackson, Columbus; step-children: Vicki (Myers) Sewards, Chillicothe; Linda Mitchell; Teri (Gerald) Mullens; Tawana Mask, all of Columbus; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers Robert (Debbie) Viney, Chillicothe; Charles Viney, Frankfort; Vernon "Ben" Viney, Chillicothe; Wilbur "Teddy" Viney, Chillicothe; sisters Sylvia Smith and Veda Hurley, both of Troy, OH; and Katherine Payne, Chillicothe; and a sister-in-law Jean Viney and her family.   He was predeceased by his parents, his lifelong companion Charlene Maughmer; his step-grandson Curtis Maughmer; brothers Sydney Viney and William H. Viney, Jr.; and a sister Betty Reid.   Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of Haller Funeral Home.   Calling hours will not be observed.
