Russell S. Austin Russell S. Austin, 71, of Chillicothe, died 7:59 am, Friday, January 23, 2009 in Westmoreland Place Nursing Home, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Monday in the Haller Funeral Home, with Bishop Melvin Maughmer, Rev. J. Troy Gray and Elder Phillip Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at Haller's on Monday. He was born October 17, 1937 in Ross Co. to Hobart Patterson and Grace Elizabeth Keel Austin. Survivors include three brothers, Chester (Donna) Austin and Hobart (Sheila) Austin, both of Chillicothe, and William (Kate) Hill, of Indianapolis, IN; six sisters, Norma (Lewis) Smith, Lovada (Ronald) Cousins, Christina (Garrett) Duncan, Lucille (William) Lee, and Nedra (Dana) Valentine, all of Chillicothe and Mary Howard, of London, OH; a daughter; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold P. Austin. Mr. Austin was baptized as a member of Zion Baptist Church.
