Roy Smith

Roy P. Smith Jr. (79) passed from this life to the next April 25,2021, the result of extended illness.   He was born August 11, 1941, to Roy P. Smith, Sr. and Ruth (Payne) Smith. On March 7, 1966, he married Phyllis Fraley, who survives.   He is also survived by his brother, Walter Smith; his sisters, Shirley (Bill) Landman and Lola Schumann; his children: Dawn (Roger) McDaniel, of Chillicothe, Jay (Charlesa) Smith, of Maryville, TN, Shannon (Mike) Connell, of Chillicothe, Becky (Chris) Hefner, of Glenshaw, PA, and Erin (Charles) Martin, of Havelock, NC; 12 grandchildren, 2 great--grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.   Roy is a 1960 graduate of Chillicothe High School, and served in the US Air Force. He worked as an electrician at DuPont (Circleville) for over 30 years. Roy was a member of Beulah Chapel CCCU, where he served as a trustee for a number of years. He enjoyed caring for his grandchildren and watching them grow.   Roy's funeral will take place Thursday, April 29, at 1 pm, at Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Aaron Long officiating. Friends may call Thursday at the Funeral Home from 11 to 1 prior to the service. Roy will be interred at Little Mound Cemetery, Richmond Dale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beulah Chapel CCCU, 585 Chester Hill Road, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.   "Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing." 2 Timothy 4:8 KJV
