Roy Murray

Roy V. Murray, 74, of Chillicothe, died 10:00 pm, September 25, 2010, at Westmoreland Place Nursing Home, following an extended illness. He was born September 6, 1936 in Allensville, OH to the late Stanley and Anna Mae Cornwell Murray. Survivors include his life companion, Linda Hayes, of Chillicothe; five children; a brother, Alfred Ferguson, of Circleville; two nephews, Dwayne and Tony Ferguson; and a good friend, Millie Birchfield. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters and his best friend, Franklin Birchfield Sr. Mr. Murray was a Korean War Army Veteran. He retired as a nursing assistant from the VA Medical Center, Chillicothe. The family would like to thank Westmoreland Place 3rd Floor; Dr. Myhand, Dr. Don Johnson, and Dr. Reedus for his excellent care. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday in Greenlawn Cemetery Soldier Square, Pastor Larry Ault officiating. Calling hours will not be observed.
