Roy E. Hiles, 63, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly Wednesday June 17, 2009, in Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born July 8, 1945, in Chillicothe to the late Clyde M. and Sylvia I. George Hiles. On July 31, 1966, he married the former Dorothy E. Tull, who survives. Also surviving are his son and daughter-in-law Ryan (Liberty) Hiles; grandsons Tristan G. and Levi D. Hiles; all of Chillicothe; sisters Glenda Walsh; Phyllis Poe; Martha (Hobart) Harris; Aleta Nichols; brothers and sisters-in-law Wayne (Jean) Hiles, all of Chillicothe; and Don (Alice) Hiles, Milton, WV; his mother-in-law Ella "Sweetie" Tull, Chillicothe; sisters-in-law Patricia Oliver; and Donna (Jack) Wellinghoff; brothers-in-law Leroy (Norma) Tull, all of Chillicothe; and John E. (Carloyn) Tull II, Goodyear, AZ. He was predeceased by his brother Glen Hiles. Roy was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1963. He sold typewriters for Tatman Typewriter for 15 years. Roy and his son owned and operated the former R & R Pools and Supplies for 10 years installing and servicing swimming pools and hot tubs. He was also the former bar manager for the AmVets, Post 4. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the AmVets, Post 4; Eagles, Aerie 600; American Legion, Post 62; and the Moose Lodge. Roy loved to watch his birds, enjoyed gardening and watching NASCAR. Roy was also an organ donor. At his request, there will be no services.
