Rosie Skaggs

As of 5:15am, December 12, 2015, Mommy's wishes were granted. She joined Daddy and all other family members, friends, and loved ones who have gone on before. She died peacefully in her sleep at Traditions of Chillicothe. She was born May 25, 1926, in Ross County to the late Herbert Chancey and Katherine Jane (Butterbaugh) Price. On June 4, 1941, when she was just 15 years old, she married Ulysses S. Skaggs. He preceded her in death October 30, 2013. Surviving are their children: Wanda Adams; Donald, Sr. (Esther) Skaggs; John (Diana) Skaggs, all of Chillicothe; Charles (Rhonda) Skaggs, Springfield; Anna (Aaron) Overly, Waverly; Rick (Pamela) Skaggs, Chillicothe; Rodney (Kathy) Skaggs, Tennessee; Mark (Carrie) Skaggs, Chillicothe; and Ulysses, Jr. (Jana) Skaggs, Oregon; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and sisters Mabel V. Hoffman; and Violet Louise Fisher. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by children: Harold Roger Skaggs, Esther Jane Miller and David A. Skaggs; grandchildren: Kyra Adams and Anthony DeWine; sons-in-law James L. Miller and Bernard R. Adams; sisters Anna Geraldine Coey and Ellen Jane Price; and brothers William Price, Gordon Price and Albert Franklin Price. Rosie joined Poe's Run United Baptist Church in June, 1948. She enjoyed cooking for the many church dinners and functions while her health permitted her to do so. She was a good Christian woman, and a loving mother and grandmother. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Tuesday at the Haller Funeral Home with Elder Arvil Murray, Jr. and Elder Freddie Preston officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Poe's Run United Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Charles Skaggs, 1573 Uplands Dr., Springfield, OH 45506.
