Rosetta Mickey

Rosetta Mae Mickey, 84, of Chillicothe, went home to be with the Lord at 12:47pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, in the Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born October 13, 1924, in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late Stanley S. and Janet L. (Upthegrove) Smith. On April 14, 1949, she married Elvin A. Mickey, Sr., who preceded her in death following 57 years of marriage. She was a member of the First Baptist Church for over 50 years. She leaves to cherish her memory, her beautiful, loving children: Janice (Robert) Scott, Sr., Springfield, OH; Ralph Hall; Perry (Kay) Hall, all of Chillicothe; Chris (Kathy) Mickey, of Washington C.H.; Lara Benson, Columbus; Kyra (Mark) Brown and Elvin A. Mickey, Jr., all of Chillicothe; 22 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; 2 step-great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and dear friends; a brother and sister-in-law Gordon and Sonya Smith; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Roscoe and Peggy Mickey of Beaver; sisters-in-law Sarah Cunningham and Julia Brown, both of Chillicothe; Willa (Augustus) Prince, Palm Coast, FL; Pearl Mosby, Milwaukee, WI; and Eleanor Hall, Dayton; son-in-law Anthony Cousins, Sr., Columbus; lifelong friend Mary Ann Lewis and other dear friends, Bonnie Thomas, Kelton Creech and Michael Steed; and a special cousin, Jeanette Beatty, all of Chillicothe. In addition to her parents and husband Elvin, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph T. Hall, Sr.; two sisters Arminta Cole and Norma Powell; two daughters Baby Girl (stillborn) and Tanya Cousins; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; and a son-in-law Steve Benson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, March 14, at the First Baptist Church, 65 W. Fourth St., with Rev. Jonathan McReynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 11am until 2pm Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home.
