Rose Downs

Rose Y. Downs, 64, of Londonderry, left this life to life with her Lord and Savior on July 7, 2005, in the Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born May 8, 1941, in Chillicothe, to Paul L. and Marjorie (Hice) Preston. On September 17, 1962, she married James F. Downs, Jr., who survives. Also surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Kim (Craig) Reichert, of Frankfort; daughter Kelly Downs, Londonderry; grandchildren Kevin and Lydia Reichert; her mother Marjorie Preston; sisters and brothers-in-law Carol (Herschel) Speakman; Marilyn (Ronald) Rittinger; Phyllis (Albert) Willis; Paulette (Richard) Blakeman; Naomi (Tom) Jividen; a sister Wanda Manson; brother Paul (Fiancee Debra Yoe); brothers and sisters-in-law Mike (Teresa) Preston; Roger (Tammy) Preston; a half sister Evangeline "Cricket" DuBois; an adopted sister, Loraine; 18 nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law Roger (Sue) Downs; her mother-in-law Helen Downs; special friends Nancy Snyder, Jan Curtis, and Diane Norris; and her precious babies "Muffie" and "Gidget". She was predeceased by her father and her father-in-law, James F. Downs, Sr. Rose was a member of the First Wesleyan Church where she served in the Ladies Ministry. Rose: wife, mother, nanny. She gave her all for everyone and everything. She was always there to lend a hand, a hug, or whatever else you may have needed at the time. Her memory will live on forever. She will always be with us! Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, July 11, at the First Wesleyan Church, 89 S. Mulberry St., with Rev. Fred Fox and Rev. Marty Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 5-9pm at Haller Funeral Home.
