Rose Ann Downard, 78, of Chillicothe, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, August 21, 2024 at Westmoreland Place, following an extended illness.
She was born August 6, 1946 in Chillicothe, daughter of the late Robert and Esther Stultz.
Surviving is her son, David (Kim) Downard; grandchildren, McKenzie Robinson and Chloe (Dakota) Cooper; her cousin, Gretchen VanMeter; and several very special friends including Pat, Kim, Cass, and Sue, whom she met through her work at The Pioneer Center and volunteering at Good Samaritan Food Pantry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Lee Downard, and her sister, Mary Beth Stultz.
Rose was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, class of 1964. She went on to work as an Assistant Teacher at the Pioneer Center for more than thirty years before retiring. In her free time, she loved volunteering at the Good Samaritan Food Pantry serving her community.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public calling hours or services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to the Pioneer Center or Good Sam Food Pantry; both of which were special places to Rose and her family.
