Ronnie E. "Oogie" Hitchens, 55, of Chillicothe, died at 5:30am October 17, 2006, in Westmoreland Place. He was born October 10, 1951, in Chillicothe to Ronald L. Bayless and Judith Hitchens. Surviving are his mother, Judith Seward, Chillicothe; son Ronnie L. Hitchens, of California; 2 grandchildren: Ronnie and Fallon; brothers and sisters-in-law Danny (Lavonna) Seward, Detroit, MI; Ward Jack (Kishia) Seward, New Orleans, LA; sister and brother-in-law Christy (Randy) Beverly; sister Lisa Seward, all of Chillicothe; a brother and a sister Tracy and Chris; aunts Frances Woodard, Margaret Fairrow, Patricia Ragland, Nancy Bayless, and Donna Williams; a special aunt Sonya Powell; and a special friend Sue Hitchens. He was predeceased by his father and a brother, Steven Hitchens. Ronnie worked at the former Chillicothe Hospital as a nurse's aid. He was honorably discharged from the US Navy in 1974. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, where a memorial service will be held at 3:00pm Monday, October 23, with Rev. Jonathan McReynolds officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home.
