Ronald E. Newman, 73, received his heavenly invitation to be with Jesus Thursday, September 28, 2017, at the Ohio State University Ross Heart Hospital, following an extended illness, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born August 15, 1944 in Portsmouth, OH to Harve and Gladys Newman. He was a graduate of Allensville High School, Allensville, OH. He was the proud owner of Newman's Insurance Place and had served the community since 1966. Ron loved and cherished every one of his customers and treated them all like family. Ron was an active member of Hallsville Community Methodist Church, where he seldom missed a Sunday or the opportunity to give back to his church and community. Waiting for him in heaven are his loving parents, Harve and Gladys Newman. Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 53 years, Janice Newman. From this union came three beautiful children, Tammy (Craig) Jones, Angela Roberts, and Scott (Cyndi) Newman; his grandchildren, Nick (Shelby) Jones, Ben, Allie and Luke Jones, Josh (Kayleigh) Roberts, Ashtan (Casey) Nicholson, and Nate and McKenna Newman; and great-grandchildren, Brynlea Jones, Lillie Roberts, and Paisley Nicholson. Also surviving is his sister, Regina Martin and her children, Barry (Vanessa) Brisker and Lanisa (Danny) Newman; and his office daughters, Shawn Stump, Pam Tatman, Barb Davis, Rindy Stauffer and the late Beth Carnes. In his spare time Ron especially enjoyed Bingo, where he made many very special friends. He also enjoyed hunting, playing golf, fishing, and most of all being with his family, who meant the world to him. Ron will be deeply and sadly missed by all who loved him. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Pastor Gregory Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm Tuesday or one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Haller's. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hallsville Community United Methodist Church.
