Ronald L. "Ronnie" Hettinger III, 21, was called home at 9:45pm May 13, at the Ohio State University Medical Center following a brief and unexpected illness. He was born June 14, 1994, in Chillicothe to Ronald L., Jr. and Tammy S. (Buskirk) Hettinger, who survive. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancé, Aubrey Thornsberry; his sisters Cassidy (Clint) Turner, and Sally Hettinger; nephews Corbin, Caysen and Crue Turner; his maternal grandparents John and Diana Buskirk; his aunts Tracy (Scott) Arganbright, Shelly (Creston Shackleford) Hettinger, Becky (Luke) Thomas and Chrissy (Steve) Roberts, all of Chillicothe; his uncle Chad (Judy) Hettinger, of Piketon; many cousins and many friends, including his best friends Dillon Throckmorton, of Savannah, GA, and Austin Dyer, of Chillicothe; his future in-laws Penny Thornsberry and her companion Shawn Gozy; and Jason and Angela Thornsberry; and his future brother-in-law Dawson Thornsberry; and his canines "Hank" and "Zeke." He was predeceased by paternal grandparents Ronald, Sr. and Rosa Hettinger; and his uncle Denny Hardbarger. Ronnie was a graduate of Huntington High School and worked as a corrections officer at Pickaway Correctional Institute. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying 4-wheeling and hunting. He had dedicated his life to the Lord and recently posted this scripture to his friends: "Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the kingdom of Heaven is near." Matthew 3:2. Funeral services will be held at Noon Thursday, May 19, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Evangelist Matthew Leslie officiating. Burial will follow in God's House Church Cemetery, Piketon.
