Roger Rutherford

Roger D. "Shag" Rutherford, 51, of Chillicothe, died at 5:16am Tuesday, December 16, 2008, in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, following a brief illness. A memorial service honoring his life will be celebrated at 5:00pm Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at the Haller Funeral Home, with Pastor Carol Davis officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 1 hour prior to the service at Haller Funeral Home. Shag was born August 28, 1957, in Chillicothe to Ronald G. and Janet E. (Park) Rutherford. He is survived by his mother, Janet E. Rutherford, of Chillicothe; sisters and brothers-in-law Marsha (Ed) Routt; Laura (Vaughn) Wilson; brother and sister-in-law Ronnie (Sherri) Rutherford; his special friend and companion, Jennifer Lechlitner, all of Chillicothe; nieces and nephews, Nicole (Dale) Fogler; Amanda (Sean) Donovan; Tiffany (Josh) Snyder; Brandon (Kandace) Wilson; A. J. Wilson; Cody Rutherford; Chase Rutherford; and Clay Rutherford. He was predeceased by his father, Ronald G. Rutherford. Shag was a graduate of Union-Scioto High School, Class of 1976. He had worked as a supervisor at the Mead Paper Co./Glatfelter for over thirty years. He enjoyed power lifting and body building. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the charity of the donor's choice.
