Roger Liggins
April 5, 1940 — March 21, 2024
Roger L, Liggins 83 years young, of Chillicothe, passed on Thursday, March 21st surrounded by his family.
Roger was born to his parents Leroy and Elizabeth (Fairrow) Liggins. His brother and best friend survives, James L. Liggins and he was preceded in death by his sister Marion Brown.
On June 25
th
, 1970, Roger married Maxine (Tackett) Liggins, who preceded him in death.
Roger has three surviving children, JR (Susan) Byrd, Maria Jane (Alfred) Garner, and Kevin Ragland. When Roger and Maxine joined there families, he became a father to his surviving daughters, Chestine (Mack) Walk, Ruby (Scott) Sherwood, Ellen (Sanford) Crisp, Patsy Cottrill, Opal (Steve) Hutton, Charlene (Larry) Conley, and the late son Calvin Johnston.
Roger lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedicated to his family. As a devoted husband, he cherished his wife and stood by her side, always unwavering in love. His children were his pride and joy. Roger's family legacy grew, all together, rounding out his family with 29 Grandchildren, 32 Great-Grandchildren, and 14 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Also as a son, Roger honored his parents and cherished the values they instilled in him. He was a loving and caring brother, always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Roger had numerous Nieces, Nephews, and cousins, whom he loved deeply.
Roger's role as a grandpa brought him immense joy and fulfillment. He showered his grandchildren with love, wisdom, and playful moments, creating a bond that transcended generations.
Roger was a man of kindness and humility. He touched the lives of those around him with his warm smile, gentle nature, and genuine interest in others. He had a passion for life and made countless lifelong friends along the way.
His legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing that he made a profound impact on the lives of his family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, April 6
th
, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. His Funeral Service will begin at 2:00pm and will be followed by burial at Greenlawn Cemetery.
