Roger A. Fortner, 64, of Kingston, died unexpectedly at 1:37pm Wednesday, August 15, 2007, in Adena Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Sunday August 19, at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor E. Wayne Green officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8pm Saturday at the Haller Funeral Home. Roger was born December 17, 1942, in Chillicothe to Paul L. and Norma C. (Hardman) Fortner, Sr. On May 18, 1975, he married the former Carolena M. Torman, who survives. Also surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law Teresa (Terry) Love, Chillicothe; Julia (Tony) Fraley, Waverly; sons and daughters-in-law Dale (Karen) Terry, Cincinnati; and Curtis (Paula) Fortner, Rock Bridge, OH; grandchildren, whom he dearly cherished: Jessica Fraley; Danelle Love; Michael Fortner; Morgan Terry; Bradley Fraley; Truman Love; Matthew Fortner; and Megan Fortner; his father Paul L. Fortner, Sr., Chillicothe; sisters and brothers-in-law Phyllis (Roger) Wade, Virginia; Latricia (Woodrow) Wilson, Chillicothe; Nita (Wayne) Green, New Holland; Louann (Tony) Norman, Chillicothe; Datha (Michael) McCoy, Chillicothe; brothers and sisters-in-law Paul "Junior" (Elizabeth) Fortner, Jr., Chillicothe; and Jeff (Lori) Fortner, Springboro. He was predeceased by his mother and a granddaughter, Sabrina Fraley. Roger was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was a graduate of Clarksburg High School and he was the owner/operator of Woodland Builders, since 1975. Roger was a member of the First Church of God, Circleville where he served as the music and worship director and also a member of the Board of Elders.
