Roger E. "Harley" Cooper, 58, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 9:38pm on April 23, 2008, in his home following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Sunday, April 27, in the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Blevins and Gary Chandler officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veteran Honor Guard will follow in Little Mound Cemetery, Richmond Dale. Friends may call from 5-8pm Saturday at Haller Funeral Home. Roger was born December 23, 1949, in Ross Co. to the late Glen Raymond and Dorothy Leona Kight Cooper. On May 29, 1971, he married the former Marilyn J. Daniel, who survives. Also surviving are their daughter and son-in-law Rhonda (Tom) Battista, of Chillicothe; son and daughter-in-law Roger E. (Mandy) Cooper II, of Wellston; special granddaughters Hailey and Ashley Lowery; special daughters Christina (Steve) Spencer; Angie Smith; and Amy Lowery, all of Chillicothe; sisters and brothers-in-law Rita (Larry) Payne, of Londonderry; Linda (Lucky) Howard; and Pam (Jim) Peters, all of Chillicothe; brothers Marvin Cooper, Londonderry; David, Gary, and Mike Cooper, all of Chillicothe; and a brother and sister-in-law Jeff (Kitty) Cooper, Chillicothe; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special companion, "Lightning." He was predeceased by uncles Wayne Cooper and Glen Kight; aunts Eileen Vest and Mildred Porter; and a nephew Mickey Shannon. Roger worked for Shelly & Sands, Inc. as a loader operator for 30 years. He was a graduate of South Eastern High School, Class of 1969. He served in the US Army and was an avid Ford lover.
