Roger D. Compher, 71, of Chillicothe, died Thursday, October 24, 2013, at his home, unexpectedly. He was born September 20, 1942 in Ross Co. to the late Hubert and Goldie Addy Compher. Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Norman, Kingston and Tracy Pigge, Chillicothe; three sons, Jeff (Candice), Ty, and Brett Compher, all of Chillicothe; nine grandchildren, Tashia (Shane) Mills, Courtenie (Jeff) Smith, Amber (Steve) Henness, Tonya, Melissa, Jospeh (Jessica), Samuel, Chad, and Jason (Jennifer) Compher; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Compher, St. Petersburg, FL; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Compher. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Vernon, Dale, Bernadine, Faith, Evelyn, Charles and Marcus; a special cousin, Lawrence; and the mother of his children, Kay Compher. Roger retired from highway construction with the Ohio Laborer's Union, Local 83. He was a member of the coon hunters club and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, October 28, 2013, in Twin Township Cemetery. Calling hours will not be observed.
