Rodney Titler

Rodney D. Titler, 85, of Chillicothe, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on November 20, 2025. Born on October 21, 1940, to the late Ralph and Jean Titler, Rodney grew up alongside his siblings, Tona (Gary) Howard and the late David (Connie) Titler. He married his childhood sweetheart, the late Barbara (Montgomery) Titler, on October 23, 1960, together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and love. They were blessed with three children – Crystal (Jeff) Davis, Stephen (Beth) Titler, and the late Douglas Titler – five grandchildren, Alexandra, Nathan, and Victoria Davis, Benjamin (Erica) and Joseph Titler, and four great-grandchildren: Roslyn, Adalyn, Declan Davis, and soon-to-arrive Theodore Douglas Titler.

Rodney spent his life laughing loudly, loving deeply, and finding joy in life’s small, ordinary moments – the kind that somehow end up being the most extraordinary. He worked for 41 years at Mead - Chilpaco, a company that shaped Chillicothe for generations, and he took great pride in being part of its legacy.

Rodney had a gift for joy – an easy smile, a well timed “Charlie” joke, and the kind of belly laugh that made everyone around him feel lighter. He loved his family with the same wholeheartedness he brought to his walk with God. Whether he was working with his hands, tinkering with a car, or offering a word of encouragement, Rodney lived life with a deep faith and steadfast love for God.

He poured his heart into his roles as husband, father, and “Pappy”, and those who loved him will carry his humor, his gentleness, and his wide-open love with them always. Rodney is held in memory by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, along with the extended family and friends who will forever hold a place for him in their hearts.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the Haller Funeral Home and Crematory, with burial to follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation from 11:00am until the time of service.
