Rodney Dewey Davis, Jr., 85, of Chillicothe, died January 3, 2022, at Berger Hospital, Circleville, following a brief illness. He was born May 4, 1936, in Frankfort, OH to the late Rodney D., Sr. and Mary (Lowe) Davis. On January 11, 1975, he married the former Juanita Johnson, who preceded him in death on July 7, 2016. Surviving are his daughter Ronda (Darrel) Hutt, of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Roshawn Harris, Alyssa Harris, Alexa Hutt and Cameron Hutt; great-granddaughters Peyton Mima and Raven Harris; step-daughters Jana (Roger) Addy, Chillicothe; and Mary Byers Hammonds, Columbus; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and his Cooper Glass family and co-workers who he considered his second family. He was predeceased by his wife; his parents; step-sons Victor Chaney and Rocky Byers; step-daughter Karen Little; and his brother James Davis. Rodney was a US Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Era. He retired from the VA Medical Center in 1994, as a foreman in the housekeeping department. He also worked for over 50 years for Cooper Glass. His funeral service will be held at 2pm Monday, January 10, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Mark Gray officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon until 2pm Monday at the funeral home.
