Roberta Breakfield, 88, of Chillicothe, went to be with her Lord 4:45 pm, December 22, 2010 at Traditions of Chillicothe, following an extended illness. She was born August 12, 1922 near Waynesville, OH to Freda and Irvin Whetsel. She married Robert A. Ward on May 28, 1940, who was killed in action during World War II. She married William Breakfield August 11, 1948, who survives. Additional survivors include her daughter, Karen (Christian) Cheeseman; a son, Larry (Melody) Breakfield; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a twin brother, Robert; a brother, John; a sister, Jean Locke; a niece, Winifred O'Hara; and a grandson, Brandon Breakfield. Mrs. Breakfield was a member of Brookside Church. She retired in 1978 from the VA Medical Center. She and her husband owned and operated the Cavalier Skating Rink and the Queen City Mobile Home Court until their retirement in 1983. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday at the Haller Funeral Home, Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at Haller's.
