Roberta Louise Fisher Bishop, 80, was promoted to glory on March 5, 2007, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born May 13, 1926 to Elizabeth Senglewalt and Harry Fisher, Roberta is one of thirteen children. She is preceded in death by husband John Phillip Bishop Sr.; her parents; sisters, Edith Dunlevy, Ruth Fisher and Violet Henning; and precious grandsons, John Thomas Cope, David Richard Bishop, Cody Bishop and great-granddaughter, Natalie Bishop. Roberta leaves behind eight children, Michael (Betty Ann) Bishop, David Bishop, John (Hannah) Bishop, Toni (John) Cope, Jackie McLaughlin, Jenny Bishop, Al (Nancy) Bishop and Cathy Bishop. She also has 27 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings, Iva Foster, Harriet Fisher, Anna Knollinger, Clara Mae Beucke, Harry (Betty) Fisher, Mary (Richard) Maruca, Zelda (Walter) Hediger, Robert (Marge) Fisher and Nancy (Ted) Matthews. Roberta was a life long member of the Salvation Army, a homemaker and everyone's mom and grandma. Devoted to her family and her Christian beliefs, she raised not only her own children but a number of neighborhood and day care children as well. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, March 9, 2007, in the Kepner Funeral Home, 36th and Jacob Streets, Wheeling, WV with Captains Ed and Goldie Long officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm Thursday or 8-11 am Friday at the funeral home. Local arrangements are by the Haller Funeral Home.
