It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert L. Wilson, 69, who departed this world on August 5, 2025, peacefully from his home in Chillicothe, OH, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 20, 1956, in Columbus, MS.
Robert lived a life of endless wit and self-determination fueled by his sarcasm which ended with a smile. He faced his illness with resiliency and faith.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 46 years, Linda C. Munson-Wilson, his two daughters, Brittany M. Wilson (of Los Angeles, CA) and Cynthia D. Wilson (of Columbus, OH). Also surviving are his brothers Jack (Pam) Wilson (Columbus, MS), James Wilson (Stockton, CA); sister Mary Wilson (Stockton, CA) mother in-law Irene Pratt (Columbus, MS); sisters in-law Felecia Spann (Milwaukee, WI), Zena Turner (Tacoma, WA); brothers in-law Tony (Diane) Munson (Upper Marlboro, MD), Robert Jr. (Tosha) Pratt (New Braunfels, TX), Michael (Pam) Pratt (Clinton, MS), Phillip Turner (Tacoma, WA); a special niece Teresa (Anthony) Stephenson (Fairhope, AL); a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a grand dog Daisy.
He was preceded in death by his son Lee A. Wilson (Chillicothe, OH), two brothers Milton Stork (Stockton, CA) and Charleston Wilson (Dallas, TX), mother Ruby Wilson-Poindexter (Stockton, CA), father Jack Wilson Sr. (Columbus, MS) and brothers in-law Ronald Munson and Joseph Pratt (Columbus, MS).
Robert retired from the Fluor Babcock Portsmouth and has spent the last year in retirement.
A viewing will be held at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, 1661 Western Ave Chillicothe, OH 45601, on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. The Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, with calling hours starting at 10:00 am and service will begin at 11:00 am at Zion Baptist Church, 84 Co Hwy 116, Chillicothe, OH 45601. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. A repass will follow the Celebration of Life on Friday at First Baptist Church, 65 W 4th St Chillicothe, OH 45601.
