Robert Vogel

Robert Steven Vogel, 91, of Chillicothe, passed away early Monday morning, August 27, 2018, at Kimes Nursing Center in Athens, following an extended illness.
He was born February 15, 1927 to the late Steven and Stella Vogel. On April 5, 1953, he married his wife Edith Vogel, who preceded him in death April 1, 2007.
Surviving are two sons, Robert (Vickie) Vogel II, and Walter (Brenda Puckett) Vogel; and a special friend whom he enjoyed spending time with, June Rowe. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Vogel.
Robert was an honorably discharge Navy veteran, having served in WWII. He went on to work at the VA Medical Center as an X-Ray Technician where he later retired. He continued to volunteer at the VA Medical Center to provide activities for the veterans. He was an active member in the American Legion, the 40 ET 8, and regularly volunteered with the Ross County Senior Citizens.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Haller Funeral Home. Military graveside honors conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may join the family for a visitation on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Haller's.
