Robert "Bob" M. Taylor, 85, of Chillicothe, died December 28, 2014, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 19, 1929 in Greenfield, OH to the late Jesse D. and Daisy I. Storer Taylor. On January 16, 1950 he married Helen Griffith. On May 16, 1992 Robert married the love of his life, Marilyn F. Dickson Taylor, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Joetta K. (Doug) Manson, of Cincinnati, OH and Kimberly G. (Charles) Davis, Chillicothe; his step-children, Debby (Joseph) Strausbaugh, Tommy Carter, and Karen (Rick) Netter, all whom he loved very much; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Clyde, Carey and Jerry Taylor and Dora Stillings, all of Greenfield, Jim Taylor and Joan Jones, of Hillsboro; and a sister-in-law, Thelma Taylor, of Hillsboro. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Gail, Franklin, and Pearl Taylor. Robert was a Korean War Army veteran, serving in the 24th Div. 19th Infantry Regiment, Co. G, 4th Platoon as a 60mm mortar gunner, and earned the rank of corporal. He retired from the Chillicothe Correctional Institution maintenance department. Robert was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and taught the adult class for many years. He also taught the teens and aided in making their crafts for vacation bible school. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday at the Haller Funeral Home, Pastor Brett Fisher officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call 11-1 Wednesday at Haller's.
