Robert W. Smith, 90, of Chillicothe, formerly of Dublin, OH, died September 25, 2013 at Traditions of Chillicothe, following an extended illness. He was born September 1, 1923 to the late Dwight and Della Smith. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Imogene Burlile Smith; his sister, Marilyn (Bill) Dudrow; sister-in-law, Marjorie Burlile; niece Sharon (Gale) Rickey; nephews, Bill (Saundra) Wood, Don (Nancy) Burlile, William Burlile, David Sensenbrenner, Mark Dudrow, John (Margaret) Dudrow; several great nieces and nephews, especially Beth Everhart, Michele (Chad) McKee, Taylor Rickey; and great-great nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunts Kathleen Smith, Josephine Leist, Pauline Frederick, Lucille Hartsaugh, Miriam Starkey and step-mother Dorothy Smith. Bob graduated from Laurelville High School and the Ohio State University. He was employed by Columbia Gas as Chief Geologist and later became Vice-President of the Clinton Oil Company. The family would like to thank the staff of Traditions and InCare Hospice for all of their kindness and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to InCare Hospice of Waverly, OH. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday at the HALLER FUNERAL HOME, Bishop Steve A. Nagle officiating. Burial will follow in Green Summit Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 pm Friday at Haller's.
